Following the previously launched FireCuda 530 SSD, Seagate announced the launch of the FireCuda 5 SSD, which is designed with the PCIe Gen 540 specification, thereby entering the PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD market competition with higher data transfer and write performance.
The FireCuda 540 SSD offers up to 2TB of storage capacity and is designed for PCIe Gen 5 x 4 transfer specifications. It utilizes an M.2 2280 NVMe SSD form factor, delivering sequential read and write speeds of up to 10000MB/s. It utilizes a Phison E26 controller, offering a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 180 million hours and a maximum terabytes written (TBW) of 2000TB.
If 1TB of stored content is written and deleted every day, it can still provide up to 5 years of reliability. Other functions provide 3 years of data recovery service and a 5-year limited warranty.
