As AI technology penetrates deeper into the field of image analysis, from smart city surveillance to content creation, the desire for storage density is endless. At Intersec Dubai 2026, Seagate officially announced that its three main product lines—SkyHawk AI, Exos, and IronWolf Pro—are now shipping ultra-high-capacity versions up to 32TB to global channels, aiming to provide the strongest support for the "data backbone" of the AI era.
AI is doubling image data, making hard drive density key.
With the widespread application of AI in video analytics, each frame now contains a wealth of metadata, annotations, and summaries. An IDC report indicates that over 75% of companies expect their video data volume to double within the next five years.
To cope with this massive data surge, Seagate's new 32TB product line is based on the Mozaic 3+ platform technology, which has been previously validated in hyperscale cloud environments. By increasing the storage density per disk (up to 3TB per disk in the Exos version), enterprises can significantly expand their total storage capacity without increasing data center space. This is crucial for companies that need to store high-resolution surveillance footage or train AI models for extended periods.
The three musketeers have been fully upgraded: surveillance, NAS, and enterprise-grade.
This 32TB capacity expansion covers Seagate's three core product lines, each optimized for different scenarios:
• SkyHawk AI 32TB (for surveillance):Designed specifically for AI NVRs (Network Video Recorders), it emphasizes support for over 10000 hours of video storage and analysis. Its workload capacity is three times that of a standard surveillance hard drive, and it features built-in SkyHawk health management, making it suitable for security environments requiring 24/3/yearly writing of large amounts of video streams.
• IronWolf Pro 32TB (NAS Dedicated):Designed for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and creative professionals, this NAS system utilizes CMR technology and AgileArray firmware, emphasizing shock resistance and stability in multi-drive environments. Capable of handling up to 550TB of workload annually, it is the top choice for video creators storing large media libraries.
• Exos 32TB (Enterprise Data Center): Designed for cloud data centers and hyperscale workloads. Featuring industry-leading storage density and energy efficiency, built with 90% proven components to ensure long-term reliability and sustainability.
