Seagate has announced a rebranding of its hard drive product line, renaming it the "Guardian" series. "Barracuda" refers to 7200 rpm hard drives, "Firecuda" is a hybrid hard drive, "Ironwolf" will cater to NAS applications, and "Skyhawk" is for surveillance systems.
The "Barracuda" series will be further differentiated into two specifications: "Barracuda" and "Barracuda Pro". The "Barracuda" is available in 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch specifications, with a maximum capacity of 4TB and a warranty of up to 2 years. The "Barracuda Pro" uses helium packaging technology to ensure operational stability under high-speed operation. It is available in 6TB, 8TB and 10TB capacity specifications, and corresponds to a warranty of up to 5 years.
The Firecuda hybrid drive is also available in 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch sizes, with a maximum capacity of 2TB and a five-year warranty. The Ironwolf, designed for NAS applications, also comes in two sizes: the Ironwolf and Ironwolf Pro.
