Samsung applied for a patent for a foldable phone design earlierGet approved, which will be throughFlexible batteriesThe design increases the battery life of the phone by allowing the screen to be folded without affecting the thickness of the body.
Foldable phones typically sacrifice battery life in pursuit of thinness and lightness, while maintaining the same user experience as traditional upright phones. This also reduces battery life when viewing content on the large screen.
Samsung apparently plans to use a single-cell flexible battery design that can bend with the phone's screen, and claims that it can be folded multiple times without affecting the battery structure and service life. At the same time, it can further utilize the concave structure space inside the phone to increase battery capacity, thereby extending its battery life.
However, it is not yet confirmed whether Samsung plans to adopt this design patent for its next foldable screen phone.
