Samsung officially announced its subsidiaryThe first flagship tri-fold phone, Galaxy Z TriFoldThis new phone features a dual inward-folding design, offering an immersive 10-inch screen experience when unfolded. It attempts to strike a perfect balance between the portability of a phone and the large-screen productivity of a tablet, further solidifying its leading position in the foldable phone market.
Unfolds into a 10-inch tablet, with a thickness of only 3.9mm.
The Galaxy Z TriFold's unfolded 10-inch inner screen is equivalent to three 6.5-inch phones side by side, providing more space for multitasking.
Despite its complex structure, Samsung managed to keep the body thickness to 3.9mm (at its thinnest point when unfolded). To achieve this design, Samsung upgraded its Armor FlexHinge hinge structure, employing dual-rail collaborative operation to ensure near-zero gap bonding of the screen panel.
In terms of body materials, the hinge cover is made of titanium, the body frame is made of high-strength Advanced Armor Aluminum aluminum alloy, and the back cover is made of ceramic glass fiber to improve the strength of the composite material, which improves both lightweight and sturdiness.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor is the first phone to feature the "standalone" DeX operating system.
In terms of core specifications, the Galaxy Z TriFold is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy mobile platform, ensuring its operational performance.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is the first phone to support the independent operation of Samsung's DeX system, meaning that users can switch to DeX desktop mode directly on the 10-inch screen without connecting an external screen, create up to four workspaces, run multiple windows at the same time, and even connect an external Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, turning it into a mobile workstation in an instant.
In terms of battery life, the Galaxy Z TriFold has a built-in triple battery module with a total capacity of 5600 mAh, which is distributed in three body blocks to balance weight and heat dissipation, and supports 45W wired fast charging.
2MP camera, Gemini Live multimodal AI
The imaging system features a 2-megapixel main camera lens, a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen, and supports a 120Hz display refresh rate and Vision Booster technology.
In terms of AI applications, in addition to existing Galaxy AI features (such as generative photo editing), the Galaxy Z TriFold has further integrated the Gemini Live multimodal AI assistant, which can understand what the user sees through the camera and provide real-time suggestions, such as showing interior spaces to get design recommendations.
