Announcing the launchGalaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE series, and Galaxy Buds FEAfter expanding the Galaxy series device ecosystem, Samsung announcedNew Galaxy SmartTag2 positioning device.
Compared to the previously released Galaxy SmartTag, the Galaxy SmartTag2 adopts a completely different appearance design, with a large aperture design that makes it easier for users to wear, and a metal ring to improve durability. It is also powered by a CR2032 battery, which generally provides approximately 500 days of standby time. With the new power saving mode, the standby time can be extended to 700 days.
Available in black and white, it has an IP67 waterproof design and uses low-power Bluetooth and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to allow users to use the AR Find function to guide the direction and location of the Galaxy SmartTag2 in augmented reality with a Galaxy series phone. The Bluetooth positioning distance can reach up to 120 meters, or it can be remotely located by forming a Bluetooth connection network with other Galaxy series phones.
The newly added Lost Mode allows the Galaxy SmartTag2 to be read by an NFC-enabled phone, quickly displaying the user's pre-written contact information. Pet Walk Mode also allows the user to record their route. The upgraded CompassView feature allows an ultra-wideband-enabled Galaxy phone to more accurately indicate the Galaxy SmartTag2's location with an arrow and display the relative distance between the Galaxy SmartTag2 and the user.
In addition, once the user replaces the new Galaxy series mobile phone, Galaxy SmartTag2 can automatically synchronize and connect to the new mobile phone for subsequent use.
Currently, Galaxy SmartTag2 will be launched in October through Samsung's official channels and designated channels, with sales plans of single and four positioning devices, respectively. The suggested retail prices are NT$10 and NT$4. Silicone protective cases and anti-drop protective case accessories will also be launched.
