At IFA 2025 in Berlin, Germany, Samsung unveiled its new smart home vision, "AI Home: Future Living, Now." This vision emphasizes that AI is no longer just a concept or a distant future, but an everyday experience that can be realized today. By integrating Bespoke AI, Vision AI, and Galaxy AI, Samsung aims to transform home life into a new model that is more convenient, efficient, healthy, and secure.
Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President of Samsung's Digital Home Appliances Division, said that the design of AI Home is not only an evolution of smart devices, but also can actively understand and adapt to user needs, and operate silently behind the scenes, making technology a true supporter of daily life.
According to a Samsung survey, a staggering 66% of consumers are looking forward to AI-powered homes, including simplifying daily tasks (44%) and enabling mobile phone or voice control (45%). AI Homes, powered by the SmartThings platform, enable this vision by automatically controlling lighting, room temperature, and even synchronizing curtains with the weather, creating a more intuitive living environment. They also integrate health monitoring, sleep schedules, and nutritional planning, addressing the modern family's desire to view their home as a haven (93%) and a hub for social interaction (80%).
Energy efficiency is also a key focus, with 66% of consumers expecting AI to help reduce expenses. AI Home, combined with SmartThings Energy, can reduce washing machine energy consumption by up to 70%, effectively balancing environmental and economic benefits. Security is provided by Samsung Knox Vault and Knox Matrix, ensuring connected devices and personal data are protected at both the hardware and ecosystem levels.
On the product side, Samsung launched a new generation of Bespoke AI home appliances:
• AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra:Upgraded object recognition to detect transparent liquids.
• AI Washer:The AI Wash+ function can adjust the washing mode according to the clothes, and its energy efficiency is 65% higher than the Grade A threshold.
• AI Dishwasher:It can automatically adjust the cleaning process according to the degree of dirtiness and supports automatic door opening to accelerate drying.
• Extractor Induction Hob:Integrate the range hood directly into the stove to improve space utilization efficiency.
In the audio-visual entertainment sector, Samsung leveraged Vision AI to create the more humane and interactive "Vision AI Companion," and collaborated with AI technology companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Perplexity to promote an open platform ecosystem. Highlights of this exhibition area include:
• Micro RGB Display:The 115-inch ultra-large screen presents cinema-level image quality and depth.
• The Movingstyle:A portable battery-powered touchscreen TV with AI functionality, perfect for use in any corner of your home or outdoors.
• Samsung Sound Tower:With 18 hours of battery life and customizable lighting effects, it enhances the party atmosphere.
As for Galaxy AI, Samsung continues to advance the widespread adoption of mobile AI, building on the foundation laid by the Galaxy S24 series. By 2024, Galaxy AI will be available on 2 million devices, with a goal of exceeding 2025 million by the end of 4. Samsung will also enhance multimodal experiences to ensure seamless connectivity across devices.
During IFA 2025, Samsung showcased its AI Home at CityCube Berlin. The company also collaborated with international digital artist Maotik to create a 50-meter-wide digital artwork at the exhibition entrance. Themed around "wind," the artwork used dynamic data visualizations to illustrate how AI technology is permeating and enriching daily life.
Samsung said that the "AI Home" vision represents a new chapter in the smart home and will be backed by technology to truly bring home life into the AI era.
