Samsung announced last year that it would launchSelf-service repair planAfter collaborating with iFixit to provide repair tool kits suitable for Galaxy S series mobile phones and Galaxy Tab series tablet devices, it has now further announced that the self-service repair program will be expanded toEuropean and British markets, allowing more consumers to repair Samsung products themselves.
The program will be implemented in Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the UK, with ASWO and 2Service providing sales of repair tools, while Samsung will provide related repair instructional content on a dedicated website.
In addition to some EU countries and regions that have officially implemented this self-repair plan, the UK and other regions are expected to go online before the end of June this year.
The repair kit is priced at 30 euros in Germany, the corresponding port and back cover parts of the Galaxy S20 series are priced at 50 euros, and the screen parts are priced at 200 euros. However, the prices of parts will vary depending on the specifications of the models. For example, the screen parts of the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be sold for 310 euros.
Samsung products currently eligible for this self-repair program include the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 series phones, as well as the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 laptops. The phone models offer replaceable screens, glass backs, and bottom ports, while the laptop models offer replaceable top and bottom covers, screens, touchpads, power buttons with fingerprint recognition, and rubber feet.
