The Korea TimesIt is said that Samsung will focus more resources on foldable screen phones and may reduce the proportion of development of its annual flagship phone Galaxy S in the future.
Samsung is currently preparing to launch new foldable phones in August of this year. The company is expected to release the flagship Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 4. By adjusting the prices of models like the Galaxy Z Flip 4 last year, Samsung is clearly testing the market's price range for foldable phones.
Prior to this, Samsung had already stated that it would expand its layout in the foldable screen mobile phone market in the future, and even canceled the Galaxy Note series product line that was routinely launched in the second half of the year, and incorporated its design elements into the Galaxy S series, making the launch of mobile phone products in the second half of the year more simplified.
As Samsung continues to expand its portfolio of foldable phones, while also satisfying the majority of market demands with the Galaxy A series, coupled with current market demand, it is believed that the sales share of the Galaxy S series flagship phones may gradually decrease in the future. However, it will still retain its annual flagship status, but Samsung's future development focus will be on foldable phones.
On the other hand, before Apple's rumored foldable phone actually launches, Samsung is clearly hoping to gain a larger share of the foldable phone market. With more and more mobile phone manufacturers entering the foldable phone market and using low-price strategies to capture market share, Samsung may be even more eager to gain a foothold in the market.
