During Gamescom 2022, Samsung announced the launch of two Odyssey-branded gaming monitors and the new 990 PRO series PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Among them, both Odyssey-branded gaming monitors are equipped with the Samsung Game Center service function, allowing users to quickly connect to cloud streaming game services such as Microsoft Xbox Cloud Gaming, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, and NVIDIA GeForce Now.
The G70B and G65B gaming monitors launched this time are designed specifically for PC gaming. The G70B, available in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes, utilizes a flat IPS display panel design, supports a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms grayscale response time. The G65B, on the other hand, features a 1000R curvature design and is also available in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes. It also supports a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1ms grayscale response time.
In addition to built-in quick connection to cloud streaming game services, both Odyssey-branded gaming monitors feature new gaming tools that allow PC gamers to quickly adjust the screen aspect ratio, display response time, and corresponding display modes. Furthermore, the monitors themselves support wireless display casting, allowing users to stream content via AirPlay 2 from an iPhone or iPad, or connect to a Samsung phone via DeX.
In addition, since both monitors are integrated with Samsung's smart platform design, they can also use streaming video services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, and can also be used with Windows PCs or Mac models via wireless connection.
The new 990 PRO series PCIe 4.0 SSD follows the previously launched 980 PRO series, boasting faster 4K video editing and 3D image rendering efficiency. Samsung's proprietary controller boosts performance per watt by 50%, resulting in read and write performance of up to 7450MB/s and 6900MB/s, respectively, and random read and write performance of up to 1400k and 1550k IOPS.
容量部分將提供1TB、2TB與4TB規格,建議售價則從179美元起跳,最高為309美元。不過,三星僅計畫在今年10月推出1TB與2TB容量版本,4TB容量版本則要等明年才會推出。
