Samsung announced the launch of its new Galaxy A17 5G mobile phone in Taiwan, continuing the Galaxy A series' "low-cost-performance" strategy. Targeting the mid-range market, it features a thinner and lighter design, a 5000-megapixel wide-angle lens with upgraded OIS optical image stabilization, a large-capacity battery, and support for multiple AI functions.
The Galaxy A17 5G uses a 6.7-inch screen that supports a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz. The screen surface is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7 tempered glass and has IP54 dust and water resistance. The processor uses a Samsung Exynos 1330 processor, paired with 6GB or 8GB of memory, 128GB of storage capacity, and a built-in 5000mAh large-capacity battery.
The body thickness is reduced by 0.4mm and the weight is reduced by 8 grams compared to the previous generation model. It also provides 6 years of security updates and 6 generations of operating system upgrades to ensure a long-term user experience.
In terms of photography, the Galaxy A17 5G is equipped with a 5000-megapixel OIS optical image stabilization wide-angle lens, a 500-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a macro lens. The front video lens adopts a 1300-megapixel specification, and has built-in multiple filters and beauty modes, and supports up to 2TB micro SD memory card expansion.
In terms of smart functions, the Galaxy A17 5G supports A applications such as "Search Circle" and Gemini. You can quickly search for products, words or solve math problems by circling images. You can also ask AI to plan travel itineraries and even discuss outfit suggestions in real time.
The Galaxy A17 5G is available in three colors: Counterattack Black, Flash Gray, and Chasing Wave Blue, with a suggested retail price starting at NT$7490. It is expected to go on sale in late August at Samsung Smart Center, Samsung Mall and major channels.
