Following the unveiling of its $3, stunning 115-inch Micro RGB TV at CES last year, Samsung has once again announced a full-size lineup of Micro RGB TVs to be showcased at CES 2026 next month. This time, in addition to large-screen designs, the lineup extends down to the mainstream 55-inch size, aiming to set a new standard for premium home entertainment.
Covering sizes from 55 inches to 115 inches, challenging 100% BT.2020 wide color gamut.
三星這次一口氣推出了55、65、75、85、100與115吋等尺寸,意圖通吃各個客廳大小。
In terms of specifications, Samsung emphasizes its color accuracy, which rivals broadcast-grade monitors, and it has received VDE certification as "Micro RGB Precision Color 100," claiming to cover the stringent 100% BT.2020 HDR wide color gamut standard. Furthermore, the new model will feature:
• Micro RGB AI Engine Pro: Enhances clarity and realism through frame-by-frame optimization using AI.
• Anti-reflective technology (Glare Free): Reduces ambient light interference.
• Enhanced audio: Supports Dolby Atmos and Adaptive Sound Pro.
In the battle between the two Korean giants, price remains the key factor.
Just recently, LG also announced that it would exhibit...Micro RGB TVs ranging from 75 to 100 inchesThis shows that both South Korean giants are optimistic about this new technology that lies between Mini LED and Micro LED.
However, price is probably the biggest hurdle. Considering that last year's 115-inch model was priced as high as US$3 (about NT$97), even with the smaller 55-inch version launched this time, the price is expected to be quite astonishing, mainly targeting audiophiles at the top of the pyramid.
Micro RGB, through improved backlight modules, delivers exceptional color performance at a relatively "controllable" cost. With the size dropping to 55 inches, it might attract discerning users who demand the highest color accuracy but are concerned about OLED burn-in or insufficient brightness. Whether it can become widespread depends on whether Samsung can bring the price down to a level similar to high-end OLED TVs.
