After previously announcing the addition of the Matter universal IoT connection protocol and enabling its SmartThings IoT platform to support this protocol, there are now more than 2.9 million compatible products, and more services are also supported for connection with SmartThings.
The newly released SmartThings Home API will make it easier for developers to build SmartThings-compatible application services, while the SmartThings Context API will enable services to import artificial intelligence perception capabilities to provide a better IoT interactive experience.
As Samsung integrates SmartThings Hub functionality into its smart TVs and sound bar systems, it makes it easier for users to use these devices as the control hub for their smart connected devices at home. This time, Samsung has also announced a partnership with Aqara, a smart home brand under Shenzhen Lumi Lianchuang, to further connect Aqara-branded devices with SmartThings devices, thereby expanding the integrated experience of smart connected devices at home.
In addition, Samsung has also linked its digital assistant service Bixby with SmartThings devices, allowing users to control SmartThings devices with more intuitive spoken commands, and even connect to multiple devices at the same time. It also enables Bixby to better understand actual operational needs, and can also more broadly understand the user's spoken content and correctly execute the operation items.
