Samsung announced that it will use its screen display technology in more smart home appliances, including a refrigerator with an integrated 9-inch AI Home screen and a wall-mounted oven with an integrated 7-inch AI Home screen. It will also use the 7-inch AI Home screen in the new Bespoke AI Laundry Combo washing and drying combination.
As more home appliances are equipped with screen display technology, Samsung said it will further promote the application experience of smart home appliance networking, and can be voice-controlled through the Bixby digital assistant service. It can also more intuitively confirm the use and operating status of home appliances, allowing users to operate more intuitively.
Following the previous launch of Family Hubs smart refrigerators with 21.5-inch and 32-inch display screens, the launch of a refrigerator equipped with a 9-inch AI Home screen further expands its smart refrigerator product range. The refrigerator itself can also be connected to devices such as air conditioners and vacuum cleaners, and can be operated directly through the touch screen. In some regions, an additional specification with a 4.3-inch AI Home screen will be launched to accommodate smaller spaces.
The wall-mounted oven launched simultaneously this time adopts a 7-inch AI Home screen design, which can operate the oven functions through the 7-inch screen, and use AI Pro Cooking technology to identify ingredients used in more than 80 cooking recipes, while using more recipe content for customized cooking. The oven itself can also serve as a smart home appliance connection hub or as a content playback source.
In addition, the new Bespoke AI Laundry Combo washing and drying combination is equipped with a 7-inch AI Home screen, which can also be used to view operating information and operation functions. Some markets will also launch a 4.3-inch screen specification.
Samsung also showcased its first air-source heat pump products for the North American market. These include two Slim Fit EHS ClimateHub indoor units: the ClimateHub Mono with an integrated water tank, and the tankless, wall-mounted Hydro Unit Mono. Also included is the EHS Mono R32 HT silent outdoor unit, which uses R35 refrigerant and produces a noise level as low as 32dB (A). This unit operates indoor heating and water heating equipment, and is equipped with an AI Home display for intuitive operation and status confirmation.
In addition to expanding its smart home appliance portfolio with screen technology, Samsung also announced at CES 2025 the launch of a refrigerator design that uses artificial intelligence-enhanced hybrid cooling technology. This technology, touted as enabling a 900-liter refrigerator to more accurately control cooling and preserve the freshness of perishable ingredients, is claimed to extend the shelf life of fresh meats like pork and salmon by 1.4 times and 1.2 times, respectively, while also allowing for more storage space within the same-sized refrigerator.
