At last year's Snapdragon Tech Summit, Samsung announced that it would work with Qualcomm again, and the new flagship phone unveiled this time isGalaxy S25 seriesThe processor used is a customized version of Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy jointly developed by the two parties.
Although it is a customized version, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy does not use the "2+5" core design specification that Qualcomm recently updated. Instead, it is based on the standard version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite and has been adjusted to meet the design requirements of Samsung mobile phones. This allows the Galaxy S25 series models using this processor to maintain optimal power consumption and performance.
In a similar approach, Samsung actually collaborated with Qualcomm to develop customized processors for its previously launched Galaxy S24 series and other models. However, all models launched this year use Qualcomm processor specifications. In addition, they can also use the Snapdragon X80 5G network data chip and FastConnect 7800 wireless network design to correspond to faster 5G connection and Wi-Fi 7 connection speeds, and even use Snapdragon satellite services.
Samsung said that by collaborating with Qualcomm to customize the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, it will further improve the Galaxy AI execution efficiency of the Galaxy S25 series, while also allowing the mobile phone camera system to correspond more closely to the shooting performance of a single-lens reflex camera.
In addition to collaborating with Qualcomm, Samsung also collaborated with Corning, taking the lead in using Corning Gorilla Armor 25 in the Galaxy S2 Ultra. This not only provides better protection and higher scratch resistance, but also reduces surface reflections through the glass-ceramic material design, allowing the phone screen to display clearer colors.
