Bloomberg NewsRefers toApple is developing a tool codenamed "Veritas" to test the performance of the new Siri features. This tool is similar in concept to ChatGPT, but is for internal use only, helping the engineering team speed up testing and tuning.
Veritas isn't intended as a product for the consumer market, but rather as a platform for internal Apple employees to simulate interactions and collect feedback. This system will allow Siri to perform more personalized operations, such as retrieving emails and messages on a user's device, and even operating applications like photo editing.
Bloomberg News reported that the tool is also a testing channel for Apple to evaluate the value of "chatbot-style interfaces."
The news shows that Apple is close to delivering on its promise to launch the 2024 WWDC last year. The next generation of SiriAnother step closer. Although Apple publicly delayed related updates in March of this year, leading to outside doubts about its lagging AI development progress, current signs indicate that Siri integration has entered a more mature stage.
Apple's initial concept for "Apple Intelligence" suggests it aimed to deliver a more refined and privacy-focused AI experience, rather than simply mimicking its competitors' large-scale natural language model applications. However, the initial release was merely functional but lacked impressive performance. The truly compelling "life-like Siri" wasn't expected until 2026.
Apple is not relying solely on its own models, but is considering integrating technology from external partners. It was previously rumored that it might adopt models from OpenAI or Anthropic, but recent news indicates that Apple is more inclined toCollaboration with GoogleBy introducing the Gemini series models to make up for the shortcomings, it seems that Apple will adopt a more pragmatic and integrated thinking in its artificial intelligence strategy.
