BitDefender, the antivirus software launched by Romanian software company Softwin in November 2001 and winner of AVtest's Best Protection Award and Best Mobile Antivirus Software awards, announced today (September 11) the launch of a Traditional Chinese version. Furthermore, its distributor, Dezhishi Information, will establish a local customer service team with original certifications, offering free 9/26 online consultation services.
Regarding the introduction of the product to the Taiwanese market and the launch of a Traditional Chinese version, Maxime Habert, Director of Consumer Products at Bitdefender, stated that Taiwan has a large number of technology companies, as well as many startups and small businesses, but also faces a large number of cybersecurity threats. In the first half of this year alone, there were as many as 2448 billion malicious threats, including external attacks that resulted in data being stolen, lost, or altered without permission. Therefore, the company hopes to gain attention for Taiwan's information security issues by providing higher protection technology.
The Traditional Chinese version is provided in the hope that Chinese users in markets such as Taiwan, Singapore, North America, and Australia can also use it conveniently. At the same time, an original certified local customer service team is established in Taiwan in the hope of further assisting local users in solving information security issues.
Bitdefender emphasized that it has been introducing artificial intelligence technology since 2009 to enhance the identification and response to malicious attacks. It also uses data accumulated through crawler systems, email traps, honeypots, monitored botnets, corporate partners and law enforcement agencies, as well as a virtual platform that executes more than 20 malware samples every day. Combined with artificial intelligence training and growth, the system has become more capable of resisting malicious attacks.
Currently available in over 20 languages and used in over 200 countries and regions, Bitdefender has over 7 million users. Its products are available in Home, Business, Enterprise, and Server editions, and it also offers a free system health check service through its official website.
As for the free antivirus software Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition, which was originally offered since 2013, it will no longer be offered until the end of 2021, but in March 2022, a free antivirus software based on Total Security will be launched again, but it is different from the previously free version.
Bitdefender emphasizes its antivirus features, including the following:
• Anti-theft:Bitdefender Central Control allows users to remotely execute commands on Android devices, such as locating, locking, deleting, and sending alerts in the event of loss or theft, to control the device or prevent unauthorized access to device data.
• App Lock:The App Lock function helps users restrict the opening of personal or sensitive apps.
• Wireless Network Security:Scans the network the user is connected to to determine if the Wi-Fi is vulnerable to attack and provides a readiness status so that the user can switch to a secure network setting if needed.
• Fraud prevention features:Scam Alert is a preventative measure to prevent increasingly prevalent scams.
