Rokid, which has been cultivating the AR field for a long time, made a significant strategic shift at CES 2026 this year. Unlike its previous AR glasses products that emphasized visual display, Rokid unveiled a brand new product line called "Style"—a smart glasses that completely removes the display screen and focuses on AI voice interaction and image recording, attempting to challenge Meta Ray-Ban's market position with a lighter design.
Returning to the essence of eyeglasses: screenless, lightweight, and capable of being fitted with prescription lenses.
The core design philosophy of Rokid Style is "all-day wear". To achieve this goal, Rokid boldly removed the optical display module, which significantly reduced the weight of the glasses to 38.5 grams, making them lighter than their previous products with display functions.
In terms of design, Style features ultra-thin lenses with a scratch-resistant coating, and the frames are available in two colors. Notably, Rokid places special emphasis on user-friendliness for those with corrective vision; Style can be fitted with additional prescription lenses to match the user's vision, and also offers a variety of photochromic lenses, making this technological product more akin to the style of regular eyeglasses.
Dual-chip architecture and open AI ecosystem
In terms of hardware specifications, the Rokid Style employs a unique dual-chip architecture to balance performance and power consumption. Internally, it features an NXP RT600 chip responsible for low-power, always-on operation, while the more demanding AI computing and image processing tasks are handled by the Qualcomm AR1 platform. The company claims this configuration allows the Style to achieve up to 12 hours of battery life under typical usage.
Software applications are another major highlight of Style. Unlike some competitors that focus on a single AI model, Rokid uses an open architecture to allow Style to support multiple AI models, including OpenAI's ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and DeepSeek in the Chinese market. It can also use Google Maps for navigation and AI translation functions provided by companies such as Microsoft, thereby enhancing the daily practicality of smart glasses.
Targeting creators' needs: 4K recording and long-duration documentation
To meet the needs of video creation, the Rokid Style features a 1200-megapixel front-facing camera with a Sony sensor, supporting 4K video recording. To accommodate different social media platforms, users can choose from three different recording ratios.
Rokid specifically points out that Style supports continuous recording for up to 10 minutes, which is in stark contrast to Meta Ray-Ban's maximum recording time of only 3 minutes, attempting to attract users who need to record their lives or create content for extended periods.
Bonus: Charging accessories
Rokid also showcased charging accessories for its eyewear products at the event. These accessories use a small rechargeable battery that magnetically attaches to the charging contacts of the glasses, ensuring that the user won't experience any inconvenience while wearing them and extending the glasses' battery life.
However, this accessory is still undergoing final adjustments, but it is expected to be available on the market soon, although the specific price has not yet been confirmed.
Listing Information
Rokid Style is currently available for pre-order with a $1 deposit and is expected to launch globally on January 19th. The suggested retail price is $300. In addition, Rokid is demonstrating its corporate social responsibility by announcing a $20 subsidy for visually impaired users who purchase the product.
