During IFA 2019, it was announced that a 1TB storage capacity model will be launched in the international market.ROG Phone II Extreme EditionAfter confirming the news that it will be launched in the Taiwan market, ASUS earlier confirmed that it will be sold through designated channels starting from November 11th, and will also open the ROG Phone II to the five major telecom operators from November 29st with telecom tariff plans.
In addition, ASUS Global Vice President Lin Zongliang also revealed that theZenFone 6 User Exclusive School, registration will continue to be open, and it is expected that registration for advanced courses will be open at the end of November, so that every ZenFone 11 user can sign up for photography courses for free.
As for the previously mentioned esports-related learning courses based on the ROG Phone II, they are also planned. ASUS also explained that it is currently collaborating with PUBG MOBILE: PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds M to hold the "ROG X PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds M Carnival" event. This event also includes the "ROG X PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds M Taiwan Challenge Cup," the second half of 2019 PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds M Taiwan flagship tournament, with the ROG Phone II as the official device for the event.
Compared with the previous supply shortage, ASUS has announced that it will cooperate with the five major telecom operators to sell the ROG Phone II in the form of tariff plans. It is also preparing to open the sale of the ROG Phone II Extreme Edition with 5TB storage capacity. Obviously, the original supply shortage problem has been solved, allowing more consumers to purchase according to their personal needs.
Regarding future developments, ASUS stated that the ROG Phone will continue to target the needs of high-end users, similar to the ROG brand. It will not follow market trends or chip manufacturers' product plans to launch additional models targeting general mainstream or entry-level users. Therefore, at this stage, the ROG brand will not be adding a separate Strix brand to its PC products.
At the same time, if the ZenFone Max series, which currently focuses on large battery life and mainstream gaming applications, is still maintaining sales in the market, ASUS should still maintain its market strategy of targeting high-end usage needs with the ROG Phone series.
Prepare for 5G network application development
Regarding the future development plan, Lin Zongliang said that they have already invested in preparations for 5G connected mobile phones, but they will mainly observe the actual launch time of 5G network services in Taiwan and will not rush to launch their own 5G connected mobile phone products. At the same time, the launch schedule of new phones will maintain the existing pace. In addition, it is expected to retain the innovative thinking of the ZenFone 6's flip screen design.
As for the ROG Phone's 5G network layout, ASUS believes that the upcoming online streaming game applications will bring greater development opportunities, such as the recently announced cooperation with Taiwan Mobile.NVIDIA GeForce Now, or Google Stadia, Microsoft Project xCloud, are all expected to have better application performance on the ROG Phone products created by ASUS.
