In response to the demand for mobile phone photography as the main creative method, Rode earlier launched the Wireless Micro, a lightweight portable microphone that is lighter, easier to carry, and claims to be able to record sound in a professional manner.
The microphone itself weighs only 12 grams, and the receiver weighs only 6 grams. The charging storage box that can store two sets of microphones and a single set of receivers at the same time is the same size as the outer box of ordinary true wireless earphones, which means that users can carry it with them more conveniently, and it is also designed to be splash-proof.
The receivers are available in USB-C and Lightning connection specifications for earlier iPhone models. The body colors are white and black. The battery life of a single microphone is up to 7 hours, and with the charging storage contract, it can be used for 21 hours. It is connected via 2.4GHz wireless transmission. Basically, as long as the receiver is installed on the mobile phone, it can receive sound through the microphone.
As for the microphone itself, it can be fixed to clothing through a built-in clamp, or attached to the user's clothing through a magnetic accessory. The microphone also has basic wind-resistant sound reception effect. If you want clearer sound reception performance, you can also add an additional windscreen.
The longest effective connection distance can reach 100 meters, and the sound quality is improved through intelligent gain compensation, which is very suitable for recording clear sound while shooting with a mobile phone.
Wireless Micro is currently available in the US market with a suggested retail price of $149.
