Australian audio equipment manufacturer Rode has announced the acquisition of competitor Mackie, strengthening its competitive advantage in the professional audio and streaming media markets.
The reason for acquiring Mackie is mainly to see the growth trend of the content creator group in the current consumer market. At the same time, it can also compete with Corsair's acquisition of Elgato to join the content creation and live broadcast application market, rather than focusing only on the market demand in the professional field.
In addition to focusing on professional market demand through its Rodecaster Pro series mixers, Streamer X, and other products, Rode expects to strengthen its presence in the more popular audio application market through the acquisition of Mackie, and will attract more market users with relatively affordable pricing.
In terms of professional development, Rode expects to continue competing with brands such as Shure and Tascam, while also allowing its products to reach more user groups in the content creation market.
