Roblox, Discord, OpenAI, and Google announce partnershipROOST The non-profit organization, which develops Robust Open Online Safety Tools (ROOT), plans to use this to build a highly scalable and interoperable security infrastructure that is more suitable for the era of artificial intelligence.
"ROOST" will provide free open source safety tools to the public and private sectors so that they can be used on their respective service platforms, with a particular emphasis on child safety.
In a related statement, "ROOST" stated that it will provide a mechanism for detecting, reviewing and reporting child sexual abuse-related content (CSAM) in its open source security tools, and the partners behind "ROOST" will provide the funds needed for the maintenance and subsequent updates of this open source security tool, as well as the relevant technical knowledge.
The goal of ROOST is to ensure the credibility of online content through a more reliable security infrastructure as the development of automatically generated artificial intelligence changes the trend of many online contents. At the same time, it allows small businesses and organizations to ensure content security through the open source tool resources provided by ROOST without having to build security tools from scratch.
Children's online safety has been a major concern in recent years, especially for Roblox, which attracts many children and teenagers and continues to formulate numerous safety protection policies. Artificial intelligence technology companies such as Google and OpenAI have also pledged to avoid using their technology to produce content that harms children's safety.
Although the open source security tools provided by "ROOST" cannot completely eliminate child safety issues, it can at least make it easier for more companies to deal with such issues.
