Earlier, when Apple announced its second quarter financial report for fiscal year 2025, CEO Tim Cook stated that due to the impact of the Trump administration’s tariff policy, the company expected its iPhone sales to rise in the next quarter. Will face an additional cost of $9 millionThe price of iPhone models imported into the United States may increase due to factors related to the place of origin, and may even cause Apple to readjust its pricing strategy for iPhone models around the world.
Relevant sources pointed out that it is currently difficult for Apple to streamline cost increases only through supply chain adjustments. Since the US government is currently imposing heavier tariffs on Chinese imports, Apple may only be able to directly adjust costs by raising the prices of iPhone models.
Although Apple plans to move production lines out of China, for example, most iPhone models sold in the United States next quarter will be produced in India, and most iPad and Mac models imported into the United States will be produced in Vietnam, in order to cope with the impact of tariff policies, high-end iPhone Pro models and above will still likely rely on assembly and production in China, where there is mature foundry experience, and therefore it will be difficult to avoid the impact of the US government's high tariff policies.
However, some believe that it would be more beneficial for Apple to raise the prices of iPhone models to increase product sales profits, but Apple may have to package the price adjustments for reasons other than tariffs, such as changes in product design, adding more artificial intelligence technology or user experience, etc.
Market analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the models expected to be launched this year will include iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, which will roughly maintain the previous iPhone model update pace, except that the original Plus model will be replaced with the lightweight Air style. As for the spring of 2026, the entry-level iPhone 17e will be launched.
Starting from 2026, there will be adjustments. It is expected that the iPhone 17 Air with the same screen size as the iPhone 18 Air will be launched in the fall, as well as the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max with smaller screen holes. In addition, Apple’s first foldable screen mobile phone, the iPhone 18 Fold, will be launched for the first time. In the spring of 2027, the standard iPhone 18 and the entry-level iPhone 18e will be launched.
As for the fall of 2027, the iPhone 19 Air with a larger screen size, as well as the iPhone 19 Pro and iPhone 19 Pro Max with full-size screens and no hole-punch design on the front, will be launched successively. In addition, the second foldable screen phone, the iPhone 19 Fold, will be launched.
However, Bloomberg News has obtained information that Apple's first iPhone with a foldable screen design will not be launched until 2027, perhaps because the durability and practicality of the foldable screen mechanism still need to be adjusted.
