South Korea's Electronic Times quoted sources as saying that Samsung had negotiated with major customers in early May and reached a consensus on raising DRAM prices, and the specific increase will vary depending on the size of the customer.
Sources indicate that this price increase will affect the prices of DDR4 and DDR5 memory. The former will increase by about double-digit percentages, while the latter will increase by about single-digit percentages, which may be 20% and 5% respectively.
In addition to Samsung, SK Hynix is also reported to raise the price of its DRAM dynamic random access memory by about 12%, and Micron has previously informed customers that it will raise memory prices.
The reason for the price adjustment, in addition to changes in supply and demand, is the impact of the US government's tariff policy, which has caused different price increases in memory components. This means that the prices of PCs, technology products, etc. will likely increase to a certain extent this year.
