Bloomberg News reporter Mark GurmanPoint outApple currently has no plans to re-launch iPhone models smaller than 6 inches, which means that the iPhone mini launched in the past will still not have a successor product at this stage.

When Apple first launched the iPhone 2020 series in 12, it also launched the small-sized iPhone 12 mini at the same time, and then launched the iPhone 13 mini the following year. However, when it launched the iPhone 2022 series in 14, it replaced the original mini model design with the iPhone 14 Plus, and also made the iPhone models switch to screen specifications of 6.3 inches and above.
Although many market opinions believe that Apple's launch of the mini model will help boost iPhone sales, it ultimately ended up being a case of much thunder with little rain. At the same time, although the Plus model was subsequently launched to meet the demand for larger screen sizes, it still failed to drive market sales. As a result, Apple may replace it with a lighter and thinner iPhone 17 Air this fall, and the price may fall in the US$900 range, which is basically the same as the price setting of the Plus model.
Given the poor market response, Apple is obviously not considering launching a mini model of the iPhone again. Therefore, not only will we not see the iPhone 17 mini this year, Apple is also not expected to launch the iPhone 18 mini next year.
