According to the Taiwan Ministry of Digital DevelopmentAnnouncementTang Feng, Minister of Digital Development, said that the document had been signed on August 8 and the opening would be announced on August 24.Wi-Fi 6E wireless network standardThe required 6GHz frequency band (5945MHz-6425MHz) is used to provide low-power wireless information transmission equipment, thereby corresponding to higher transmission rates.
Prior to this, the 6GHz frequency band had not been available for use in Taiwan because it overlapped with frequency bands used by some military, weather radar and other facilities. As a result, many wireless network communication devices that support Wi-Fi 6E could not be sold in Taiwan. Mobile phones and laptops that originally supported Wi-Fi 6E functions had to have the functions removed or disabled before they could be sold in Taiwan.
However, inWi-Fi 7 standardIt will soon enter the market, and there will be a large number of application products at the beginning of this yearExternal displayAfterwards, the Taiwan government finally responded to market trends and, after approval by the Executive Yuan, the Ministry of Digital Development signed an official document announcing the opening of the news to the public.
However, the approved use conditions clearly state that the 6GHz band is open between 5945MHz and 6425MHz and is intended for use by low-power wireless information transmission devices. Transmitter power must be less than 14dBm, though this can be relaxed to less than 23dBm indoors. Interference with legal communication bands is also prohibited. Furthermore, the use conditions specifically prohibit the use of the 6GHz band for certain equipment, such as drones.
Currently, industry players including ASUS and TP-Link have launched Wi-Fi 6E compatible technology application products. After the National Communications Commission (NCC) completes the relevant equipment review, they can be sold in the Taiwanese market. It is expected that many Wi-Fi 9E application products will be launched in Taiwan as early as the end of September this year.
After Wi-Fi 6E technology-enabled products are successfully sold in the Taiwanese market, it is expected that the Taiwanese market will also see more products equipped with Wi-Fi 7 technology.
