At CES 2026, Razer once again showcased its vision for the future of gaming, unveiling two experimental concept designs: "Project Motoko," a headset incorporating AI wearable applications; "Project AVA," an evolved holographic projection companion; and "Project Madison," a gaming chair emphasizing a fully immersive sensory experience. Razer also announced the launch of the new Iskur V2 NewGen gaming chair, incorporating CoolTouch cooling technology to address the issue of overheating during extended gaming sessions.

Project Motoko: Concept Headphones that blur the lines between gaming and everyday AI assistants

First, in the concept product section, Razer unveiled a head-mounted device called "Project Motoko." The name is clearly a tribute to Motoko Kusanagi, the protagonist of the classic anime "Ghost in the Shell," and also hints at its connection to cyborgs and AI technology.

Project Motoko is not simply a gaming headset, but rather Razer's attempt to blur the lines between gaming peripherals and everyday AI wearable devices.

Built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform, this device features a pair of first-person view cameras positioned at eye level, enabling real-time object and text recognition. Razer emphasizes that its wide-field of attention mechanism captures details beyond normal human peripheral vision, and combined with a microphone array design, it can simultaneously record nearby voices and distant ambient sounds, thereby gathering real-time information about the user's surroundings.

In terms of software integration, Project Motoko is designed as a wearable AI assistant and is compatible with a variety of chatbot models, including Grok, OpenAI, or Google's Gemini.

Nick Bourne, global head of Razer's mobile gaming division, stated, "Project Motoko is not just a concept, but a vision for the future of AI and wearable computing." However, the company has also clarified that Project Motoko is currently only a technology demonstration and there are no plans for mass production or commercialization.

Project AVA: From Esports Coach to "Holographic AI Desktop Partner"

continueConcepts proposed at CES 2025This year, Razer has further upgraded "Project AVA" from a simple esports AI coach to a full-featured "AI desktop digital companion".

Razer showcased Project Motoko headset with AI assistant, Project AVA AI companion, and Project Madison gaming chair with full sensory feedback.

The next-generation Project AVA takes the form of a 5-inch dynamic holographic projection device, capable of displaying 3D virtual characters with natural movements, eye tracking, and lip-sync. Users can choose from Razer original characters such as Kira and Zane, or even esports legends, as their avatars, and customize them with different personalities ranging from bold and lively to calm and friendly.

In terms of functionality, Project AVA features an advanced learning engine and a "PC Vision" mode. Through a high-definition camera and eye tracking, it can "see" the user's screen. This means that AVA can not only provide real-time game strategy suggestions as it did last year, but it can also assist with daily tasks such as scheduling, brainstorming, data analysis, and even provide outfit suggestions and dinner plans.

Razer aims to position it as a versatile digital partner that can be used for both gaming and work.

Project Madison: A multi-sensory gaming chair integrating light, sound, and touch.

Another eye-catching concept design is the "Project Madison" gaming chair. Razer attempts to break away from the traditional gaming chair's function of merely providing support, transforming it into a complete "multi-sensory experience station."

Project Madison integrates Razer Chroma LED strips, supports THX Spatial Audio technology for 5.1 or 7.1 channels, and features six haptic motor actuators powered by Razer Sensa HD Haptics technology, allowing gamers to feel physical vibration feedback in the game through the chair back.

This design allows the light, sound, and touch on the seat to move in sync with the screen, creating a deeper sense of immersion. Of course, such futuristic, fully-equipped devices are very expensive and are currently only in the concept stage, with no concrete timeline for release.

Iskur V2 NewGen: A New Product with CoolTouch Technology Implemented in Practice

Compared to the two concept products mentioned above, Razer has upgraded its existing main product line, the Iskur V2 gaming chair, and launched the new Iskur V2 NewGen and Iskur V2 X NewGen.

Razer showcased Project Motoko headset with AI assistant, Project AVA AI companion, and Project Madison gaming chair with full sensory feedback.

The new seat retains the popular dynamic lumbar support system and high-density cold-foam cushioning of the Iskur V2 series, but features significant improvements in surface materials. Razer uses new Gen-2 EPU leather combined with CoolTouch technology. This material has high thermal effusivity, keeping the seat cool to the touch even after prolonged contact, effectively solving the problem of heat buildup in synthetic leather.

The Razer Iskur V2 NewGen series is currently available for pre-order with a suggested retail price of $650, and is offered in four colors: black/green, all black, Quartz, and light gray. The more affordable Iskur V2 X NewGen has a suggested retail price of $350 and is available in three colors: black/green, all black, and Quartz.
