Ralf Groene left Microsoft in April 2024. Prior to that, he served as head of Microsoft's Devices and Services department and was responsible for the design of the Surface series of models. He also maintained close cooperation with Panos Panay, who was then the product chief at Microsoft.
After announcing his joining Amazon, Ralf Groene said he will be responsible for leading the design of Amazon's devices and service products, and is expected to maintain a close working relationship with Panos Panay, who is the head of the devices and services department.
In addition to Panos Panay and Ralf Groene leaving Microsoft and joining Amazon, J Allard (James Allard), co-founder of Microsoft Xbox and who participated in the development of Microsoft's dual-screen concept device Courier, has also joined Amazon and works in the Devices and Services department led by Panos Panay.
On the other hand, Aidan Marcuss, who was previously responsible for cloud product strategy at Microsoft, has now joined Amazon and leads the Fire TV, advertising and AppStore teams.
