A French game studio that has collaborated with Sony in the past on games such as Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human.Quantic Dream, earlier confirmed to be officially acquired by China's NetEase Games.
Before this, NetEase actually already held part of the shares of Quantic Dream, and this time it bought all the shares of Quantic Dream, making Quantic Dream its wholly-owned subsidiary.
However, Quantic Dream emphasized that it will continue to operate independently in the future, and its games will be released on all gaming platforms. Therefore, its game production and distribution strategy will not change due to its acquisition by NetEase.
Quantic Dream emphasized that it has had a deep cooperative relationship with NetEase in the past and has jointly created various large and small game works. After becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of NetEase, it is expected to obtain more resources to create game content.
In addition to the acquisition of Quantic Dream, NetEase has continued to attract well-known Japanese game producers in recent years, such as the famous Japanese game developer Yuichiro Konosuba, who created the "Dragon Among Us" series.Toshihiro Nagoshi, and former CAPCOM game producer who was responsible for games such as "Resident Evil" and "Devil May Cry"小林裕幸, have now joined NetEase to seek greater game production and development opportunities. Obviously, NetEase will accumulate more abundant 3A-level game resources to seize more game market and even further compete with Tencent Games.
