In the unveilingNext-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile computing platformQualcomm emphasized that by combining its second-generation independent architecture Oryon CPU design with Snapdragon technology to innovate in various computing fields, it is expected to promote AI-first user experience.

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said that Qualcomm is driving computing innovation by focusing on three key areas: network technology, user experience, and application services. At the same time, Qualcomm is currently applying Snapdragon computing power to mobile devices, wearable devices, PCs, and in-vehicle systems, and continues to expand the scope of applications to create a richer user experience.

Qualcomm also emphasizes the potential of AI to transform user experiences, emphasizing the potential of self-generated AI. For example, with banking apps, which many people use on their phones, future interactions will leverage large-scale natural language models, enabling services to directly understand spoken statements. This allows users to inquire about their bank account balances directly, take a photo of their credit card bill, and then complete online payments through spoken banking services.
Qualcomm also emphasized the continued expansion of Qualcomm AI Hub application resources, enabling more developers to create rich application services using a variety of AI model resources and software stacks. Qualcomm also announced collaborations with Microsoft, Meta, OpenAI, Epic Games, and other industry partners to expand the diverse AI model, software application service resources, and enable the Snapdragon computing platform to drive more innovative application experiences.
On the other hand, Qualcomm also announced during the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2024 that it will cooperate with mobile phone brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, and Honor. It will also continue to cooperate with Meta on smart wearable devices to promote virtual visual computing experiences that are expected to become mainstream in the future. In terms of PC products, it will continue to work with Microsoft to promote more Windows on Snapdragon application services, and even claim to bring more than 1200 Windows games to the Windows on Snapdragon computing platform. At the same time, it will also cooperate with car brands such as Volvo, Land Rover, BMW, General Motors, and Sony Honda Mobility's AFEELA on vehicle platforms to promote the development of a wider range of smart vehicle applications.

Following last year's announcement of the first generation of Qualcomm's proprietary Oryon CPU architecture, Qualcomm is now highlighting its Snapdragon X Elite PC-class processor, which boasts performance exceeding even PC processors like AMD's Ryzen 9 HX370 and Intel's new Core Ultra 9 256V, while also offering over 22 hours of battery life.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite, designed with the second-generation Oryon CPU, is claimed to be comparable to PC-level processor performance, and is compatible with higher artificial intelligence computing capabilities and richer wireless connection application functions. It also emphasizes that it will continue to use its own architecture to promote higher computing performance.
