Qualcomm announced the launch of a new Video Collaboration Platform for homes and businesses, which integrates Qualcomm's artificial intelligence, video and audio technologies to meet the needs of clearer and more convenient online video conferencing activities.
Through a dedicated AI accelerator, Qualcomm said it will allow customers to customize various application functions, including using AI for noise reduction, or corresponding to dynamic group framing, specific portrait framing, and speaker framing. It will also allow application products to be sold with features that can be used out of the box.
This video collaboration platform suite can be used in enterprise, healthcare, education, and home environments, and is compatible with video conferencing of varying scales. It can also connect to digital whiteboards, touch controllers, or personal home devices, and is compatible with both Android and Linux environments, shortening product commercialization time.
The first wave of partners for the video collaboration platform suite include AVer, Bose, Crestron, HP's Poly, Jabra, Lenovo, Logitech, OWL Labs, and Yealink.
The Qualcomm Video Collaboration Platform suite includes:
• VC5:Rapidly launch an all-in-one front-of-room conferencing system through ready-to-use or customizable AI audio and video features developed specifically for enterprise environments, and leveraging deeply optimized hardware and software reference designs.
Chipsets supporting this platform include the QCS8250, QCS7230, and the upcoming QCS8550.
• VC3:Offering advanced video conferencing capabilities, including support for multiple ultra-high-definition cameras, Wi-Fi 6E, and advanced AI audio and video capabilities, the Snapdragon 855 delivers an exceptional experience even for devices requiring only standard functionality. From small room systems and video conferencing cameras to USB webcams and personal devices, the Snapdragon 855 offers maximum flexibility in design and deployment for a wide range of video conferencing products.
