Qualcomm announced earlier that Liu Sitai, former head of Acer's self-built cloud and smart products, will serve as president of Taiwan and will report directly to Jim Cathey, Qualcomm senior vice president and president of Asia Pacific and India.
Liu Sitai, former head of Acer's in-house cloud and smart products, who was recently rumored to be moving to Qualcomm, confirmed earlier that he will join Qualcomm as vice president and president of Taiwan, and will report directly to Jim Cathey, Qualcomm's senior vice president and president of Asia Pacific and India.
After Liu Sitai left Acer, his original position was taken over by co-general manager Shih Hsien-hui, while the smartphone and wearable device team was transferred to Gao Shu-guo, former general manager of Acer's core business group information products business, who emphasized that the company would not withdraw from the smartphone market.
Liu Sitai previously served as Director of Motorola's 3G Business Unit in Asia, and was responsible for the 3G business departments of branches in Singapore and China. He has considerable experience in the development of the mobile phone industry. After joining Acer in 2010, he was also responsible for leading the development of mobile phone products. In 2015, he assisted Acer in cooperating with Victorinox of Switzerland, allowing Acer smartphones and smart wearable devices to further combine fashion elements and strengthen the integration of Acer smartphone software, hardware and services.
