Qualcomm earlier announced the establishment of an artificial intelligence R&D center in Vietnam to promote the development of artificial intelligence applications in areas such as mobile phones, PCs, virtual vision, automobiles and the Internet of Things.
Prior to this, Qualcomm had already acquired VinAI Application and Research JSC (VinAI), a subsidiary of VinAI Application and Research JSC (VinAI), a generative AI department of Vingroup Ecosystem, Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate, in early April this year.MovianAI Artificial Intelligence Application and Research Joint Stock Company (MovianAI Artificial Intelligence Application and Research JSC, MovianAI) to expand its artificial intelligence development technology.
Qualcomm announced the establishment of an AI R&D center in Vietnam, aligning with Vietnam's current national strategies in AI, semiconductors, and digital transformation. The center will focus on technology transfer, ecosystem collaboration, and the cultivation of relevant technical talent.
In a previous statement, Qualcomm stated that it has been working closely with the Vietnamese technology ecosystem for more than two decades to jointly create and bring innovative solutions. Its innovations in areas such as 5G, AI, the Internet of Things, and automotive have driven the prosperity and success of Vietnam's information and communications technology (ICT) industry, thereby helping local companies expand into the global market.
Southeast Asia is currently experiencing continued growth in mobile network applications and a high demand for digital transformation. Therefore, Qualcomm expects that establishing an AI R&D center here will drive greater application growth.
