QualcommOfficially announced soonIts new generation of fast charging technology is Quick Charge 5+, and it claims to provide a faster and lower heat fast charging experience with a power of up to 140W.

Qualcomm explained that in the Quick Charge 5+ technology design, a low voltage and high current design is used to reduce the heat generated during the charging process and prevent the device from overheating due to charging temperature, allowing the device to charge more efficiently and maintain stable operating performance output.

By adjusting voltage and current in real time, Quick Charge 5+ technology can dynamically adjust power output based on device usage status, allowing users to maintain stable performance while working, gaming, and streaming, and reduce battery thermal stress caused by long charging periods, thereby extending battery life.

In addition to optimizing speed and temperature control, Quick Charge 5+ technology also incorporates "Intelligent Power Distribution," which identifies the connected device type and automatically allocates power between the system and the battery, ensuring that charging does not affect the device's operating experience. Furthermore, this low-voltage strategy reduces component costs by approximately $2 on average, making high-power charging solutions more accessible to a wider range of devices.

In terms of compatibility, Quick Charge 5+ technology is backward compatible with Quick Charge 2.0, 3.0, 3.0+, 4, 4+, and 5. It is also compatible with the USB PD charging standard and can provide an equivalent fast charging experience on non-Snapdragon computing platform devices, eliminating the need for users to worry about mixing accessories.

Qualcomm plans to unveil the first wave of new devices supporting Quick Charge 2025+ technology at the Snapdragon Summit in 5. Combined with the accessory ecosystem that will debut at the end of the year, this will allow users to complete their daily charging faster, cooler, and more stably.
