Qualcomm earlier announced the launch of a new QSC400 processor for smart speaker products, claiming that it can accurately recognize user voices in noisy environments, and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound effects. It also integrates Bluetooth, Mesh Wi-Fi and Zigbee connection functions.
Qualcomm also announced the CSRA6640, a low-power, high-quality digital-to-analog amplifier chip that supports DDFA technology. At GDC 2019, it showcased a Boundless XR design that allows standard all-in-one virtual reality headsets to connect to PC devices via 802.11ad Wi-Fi.
To meet the current needs of common smart speakers, headphones, and Bluetooth speakers, Qualcomm has launched the new QSC400 processor and the low-power, high-quality digital-to-analog amplifier chip CSRA6640.
The former is designed specifically to ensure that smart speakers can clearly recognize user voice commands even in noisy environments. It uses the Snapdragon AIE artificial intelligence engine to enhance content analysis, supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio output, and integrates wireless connectivity features such as Bluetooth, Mesh Wi-Fi, and Zigbee.
In addition to providing the QSC400 processor, Qualcomm also uses this processor to create a dedicated platform for smart speaker design, allowing more manufacturers to use it to create their own smart speaker products.
The CSRA6640 utilizes Qualcomm's DDFA digital analog sound amplification technology, offering low power consumption and direct high-frequency output. It can be used in small-sized headphones or portable Bluetooth speakers. It boasts a signal-to-noise ratio of up to 112dB, supports 384KHz audio frequency sampling, and can output up to 12 channels simultaneously.
During GDC 2019, Qualcomm further demonstrated its Boundless XR design solution, which uses 802.11ad Wi-Fi to connect all-in-one VR headsets to PCs. Currently, VR headsets designed with this technology include the VR headsets recently demonstrated at MWC 2019 and the VR headsets with XNUMXad Wi-Fi.New VIVE Focus Plus, and Pico Neo2, and more devices are expected to be supported in the future.
