Qualcomm announced a collaboration with IBM to enable IBM's large-scale natural language model Granite 3.1 to be downloaded and deployed in an optimized form through the Qualcomm AI Hub and applied on Qualcomm computing platforms, thereby unleashing the potential of edge artificial intelligence computing.
Through this collaboration, the two parties will promote enterprise-grade, automatically generated artificial intelligence solutions that can be used in the cloud and on edge computing devices.
This includes integrating the IBM watsonx.governance solution, which helps businesses govern their AI responsibly, into the Qualcomm AI Inference Suite and deploying it on Qualcomm platform devices, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite reference design. IBM's large-scale natural language model, Granite 3.1, can also be downloaded and deployed in an optimized form through the Qualcomm AI Hub, allowing developers and businesses to deploy various edge AI computing capabilities using the Qualcomm platform.
In addition, the Qualcomm Cloud AI series accelerators are also Red Hat OpenShift certified, enabling true hybrid cloud architecture deployment. They can deploy various application services through the Kubernetes containerized architecture and can also apply IBM software application suites such as Watson X.
