Just as Google has integrated Google Docs functionality into Google Drive, allowing users to store and edit various common document files through cloud storage, Proton's newly launched Proton Docs also provides the same document browsing and editing functions, and is protected by end-to-end encryption.
Like other cloud-based file editing tools, Proton Docs can open common file formats such as Microsoft Office, as well as online collaboration functions, and allows files to be shared with others for viewing, access, or editing. However, if the sharing object does not have a Proton service account, the system will ask them to create an account.
This feature will be included in the free Proton Drive plan and provide basic file editing functions. It also emphasizes the ability to manage large amounts of file content using online storage space. It also claims to be able to use its technology to ensure the privacy and security of user file data. It also states that it will not use user file data for artificial intelligence technology training like other large technology companies.
Proton currently offers 5GB of free online storage space, or a subscription of 4GB of storage space for $200 per month. In addition, Proton Unlimited, which is available for subscription at $10 per month, provides 500GB of storage space and also includes Proton Mail and Proton VPN service functions.
