Peter Stern, the former Apple vice president who was previously responsible for services such as Apple TV+, iClouds, and Apple Fitness+, has now been confirmed to join Ford and will be responsible for leading the newly established integrated services department.
Peter Stern will report directly to Ford CEO Jim Farley and will be responsible for driving Ford's Ford Blue, Model e, and Ford Pro businesses, providing a new customer experience by integrating hardware, software and services.
Prior to this, Peter Stern joined Apple in 2016 and was mainly responsible for Apple TV+, iCloud, Apple Fitness+, and subscription service businesses including Apple One and Apple News+. He was even responsible for the promotion of services such as App Store, Apple Card, Apple Pay, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple Maps. He was regarded as a potential successor to Eddy Cue, president of Apple's services business, but announced his departure from Apple in January this year and recently joined the Ford team.
Before joining Apple, Peter Stern served as executive vice president and chief product officer at Time Warner Cable, and before that worked at McKinsey, a management consulting firm founded in Chicago.
Peter Stern's joining Ford and his promotion of integrated service projects may mean that Ford will integrate more services from traditional vehicle manufacturing to promote the transformation of the vehicle industry.
