Although Apple's official website still shows theNew CarPlay designMore details are expected by the end of the year, but automakers including Porsche and Aston Martin have already announced some of the new CarPlay operating interfaces expected to be used in 2024 models.
In fact, the 2023 facelifted Porsche Cayenne model has introduced some new CarPlay operating functions, allowing users to directly operate vehicle lights, air conditioning and other functions through the CarPlay interface, and even combine it with music playback functions to allow the vehicle to switch to corresponding atmosphere scenarios in different usage situations.
In an earlier update, Porsche will use the new version of CarPlay to support multi-screen functions, taking over the driver's instrument panel, central control panel, and the co-pilot control panel respectively, and presenting them in an interface that conforms to the style of Porsche models. It can also link the vehicle's air conditioning and heated seat operation functions, and allow the co-pilot to independently operate the vehicle's music playback and other functions.
Aston Martin also adopts a similar design, and the new version of CarPlay can also take over the vehicle's multi-control panel operation functions. It can also use the vehicle's internal air conditioning settings, or display vehicle speed, RPM, water temperature, fuel level and other related information, and present the digital instrument interface in the style of Aston Martin vehicles.
Currently, car manufacturers including Porsche, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, NISSAN, Ford, Lincoln, Audi, Jaguar, Acura, Volvo, Honda, Renault, Infinity, Polestar, etc. will cooperate with Apple to introduce the new version of CarPlay interface, but the specific details will have to wait for subsequent announcement.
