In addition to shutting down its services in Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, and Nebraska last summer, Pornhub is currently shutting down its services in Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, and other places, emphasizing that implementing strict age verification will affect online viewing equality and even significantly affect users' personal privacy.
Pornhub's parent company, Aylo, believes that using a digital driver's license on a device as a means of verifying personal age and identity would be a safer approach, but such service functions are not yet available in many states in the United States.
In addition, Pornhub also claimed that even if strict age verification regulations are implemented, it cannot prevent minors from watching pornographic content through other channels, but instead affects the operation of services that comply with relevant regulations. For example, after Louisiana enacted similar regulations last year, Pornhub’s overall traffic dropped by as much as 80% after cooperating with the implementation of relevant practices.
