The Pokémon Company announced that its first permanent Pokémon-themed attraction, PokéPark KANTO, is scheduled to open in spring 2026. Located in Yomiuriland, a suburb of Tokyo, it covers approximately 2.6 hectares and is approximately a 40-minute drive from central Tokyo. This facility will provide Pokémon fans around the world with an unprecedented immersive experience.
The Pokémon Company stated that tickets for "PokéPark KANTO" are expected to go on sale in the fall of 2025, at which time more detailed ticket information, price and entry methods will be announced, and a general tourist consultation window will be opened to provide comprehensive park guidance.
The dual-area design consists of forest and city, with more than 600 Pokémon waiting for trainers to explore
"PokéPark KANTO" focuses on visualizing the worldview of Pokémon. The entire park will be divided into two major themed areas: "Pokémon Forest" and "Kusa Town". Trainers will be able to encounter more than 600 Pokémon here and embark on an adventure full of surprises and interactions.
The Pokémon Forest, a lush, natural area with a diverse terrain, features a 500-meter-long trail that winds through the forest, incorporating elements such as brushwood, mountain paths, and tunnels. The forest is home to a variety of Pokémon from the Kanto region, ranging from gigantic Pokémon to miniature creatures hidden among the trees and grass. Visitors are encouraged to use their observational skills to discover a variety of surprises.
Kusanagi Town, meanwhile, creates a bustling marketplace and social space reminiscent of the Pokémon world. Trainers can visit the Pokémon Center, the Friendship Shop, the Trainer Market, and other facilities to purchase merchandise and participate in interactive gym challenges. The town also features two attractions, a Pokémon Welcome Parade, and the welcoming "Sea Lion Fountain," allowing children of all ages to experience the magical, animated atmosphere.
The park is under construction and subsequent information will be released through the official website.
Currently, "PokéPark KANTO" is still under active development. The Pokémon Company stated that it will announce more facility details, park instructions and ticket purchase methods through its official website in the future, and reminds that the park content may still be adjusted due to development progress.
For Pokémon fans, this facility promises to be more than just a theme park; it also serves as a new pilgrimage destination, representing a new attempt by the Pokémon brand to further deepen its entertainment experience. Whether it will expand to more areas, incorporate interactive technology, or further integrate with the game series remains to be seen.
