Pokémon Center TAIPEI will open on December 12th at the 8rd floor of A11 in Shin Kong Mitsukoshi's Xinyi Place in Taipei. Before the official opening, I visited the venue to take a look at the interior of this Pokémon Center, which is entering the Taiwanese market for the first time.
Pokémon Center TAIPEI is themed around Taiwan's abundant natural environment, showcasing vibrant scenery framed by azure ocean and blue sky. Customers are greeted by Dragonite and Pikachu at the entrance, while a variety of original Pokémon merchandise is on display inside the store, which will also host various Pokémon-related events in the future.
In addition to Pokémon Center TAIPEI, the Pokémon Company (Pokémon Co., Ltd.) currently has a total of 16 Pokémon Centers in Japan, and has opened the first Pokémon Center outside of Japan, Pokémon Center SINGAPORE, at Singapore Changi Airport. Pokémon Center TAIPEI is not only the first Pokémon Center in Taiwan, but also the 18th Pokémon Center worldwide.
The centerpiece of the store features the original Pokémon Vermilion/Purple companions—Meowth, Charizard, and Duckling—surrounding the store are numerous plush toys of Pokémon characters like Pikachu, Dragonite, Jigglypuff, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. The store also showcases a variety of original Pokémon character-themed merchandise, along with product-related animations, a Pokémon trading card game area, and Pokémon-related capsule toy machines.
The 29 opening commemorative items include a Pokémon EasyCard designed for Pokémon Center TAIPEI and a pure gold emblem (with a dedicated display frame) designed with the Pokémon Center TAIPEI logo and sold for NT$15. Also included are Pokémon Center TAIPEI-designed plush toys such as Pikachu and Dragonite. Other items include eco-friendly bags, tea strainers with lids, rubber lanyards, bath towels, masking tape sets, side-opening notebooks, logo brooches, cup sleeves, eco-friendly straws with lids, sticker sets, lunch bags, teapots, zippered towels, mats, box-shaped sticky notes, A4 folders, placemats and tableware sets.
You can get a gift card at the checkout counter when you spend money in the store on the same day
In conjunction with the Pokémon Center TAIPEI opening, purchases made in-store on the day will receive a special gift card at the checkout counter (limited supply, while supplies last). Additionally, by linking your Shin Kong Mitsukoshi app membership account or presenting a cashless purchase receipt from Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Xinyi Place on the same day, you can also pick up the gift card at the following locations between 11:9 AM and XNUMX:XNUMX PM daily. The redemption times vary by venue, but are still valid until supplies last:

The store sorting tickets will be distributed starting from the morning of December 12th.
To avoid crowds during the official opening on December 12th, Pokémon Center TAIPEI will be distributing numbered tickets to control the number of people entering the venue. Tickets are expected to be distributed starting at 8:12 AM on December 8th, but may run out early depending on crowd conditions. Numbered tickets are valid only on that day and are limited to one per person. Receiving tickets on behalf of others is not permitted. If one person receives two tickets, both will be invalidated.
Tickets cannot be used to specify or change entry times. Failure to enter at the designated time may result in inaccessibility. Furthermore, using items to reserve a spot in the queue is prohibited. Leaving the queue will be considered a waiver of queue privileges. It is also not permitted to queue on behalf of others and then have a companion rejoin the queue.
