While most virtual reality applications are still single-player experiences, a growing number of content developers are experimenting with creating multiplayer interactive VR experiences. Ubisoft's Escape the Lost Pyramid, for example, integrates two- or four-player modes, requiring players to assist each other and manipulate objects together to successfully complete levels.
Although it's advertised as being set in the ancient Egyptian world of "Assassin's Creed: Origins," "Uncharted: The Lost Pyramid" only uses the "ancient Egyptian world" as its setting, and uses the genetic memory tracing machine "Animus" to allow players to return to the past world to experience and solve puzzles. The game content actually does not include the dramatic wall-climbing and "leap of faith" actions like the "Assassin's Creed" series.
In fact, in order to prevent users from feeling excessively dizzy during gameplay, movement in the game is basically based on finger position. This design factor is also taken into account to avoid collisions or line entanglement problems when two or four people are playing at the same time. Basically, users only need to operate at fixed points, and at most change the viewing direction in the game by turning around. The rest of the operations are basically controlled by both hands.

Uncharted: The Lost Pyramid takes full advantage of the HTC VIVE Pro's high-definition virtual reality graphics, and the gameplay requires interaction and coordination with others to successfully complete levels, allowing for a deeper experience. The overall pacing is also quite moderate, and playing with friends allows for all levels to be completed in roughly 45 minutes. However, communication and interaction are essential throughout the game, for example, requiring others to press switches before triggering other staircases or creating climbing points through archery.
In order to avoid getting stuck during the game, Ubisoft has also added a prompt function to this game. Users only need to raise their hands during the game to display relevant prompts, and can even indicate the location of friends playing together.

Judging from the content performance of "Uncharted: The Lost Pyramid", we can find that the virtual reality images currently presented by HTC VIVE Pro, although not perfect yet, can actually bring a very realistic visual experience during the game. Especially under the expressive tension of the interaction between light and shadow, it can indeed make users have an immersive visual experience.
However, in actual operation, there is still a certain sense of unreality. This is mainly due to the difference between the hand and foot movements in virtual reality and the actual perception. In addition, the hand movements cannot be presented at natural angles, and the feeling of hanging center of gravity cannot be realistically presented during climbing. In particular, when it is discovered that one can easily perform horizontal lateral movements in the air with one hand, which violates the physical phenomena, a certain sense of unreality is still produced during the game.
In fact, this is not the first time Ubisoft has attempted to create a multiplayer virtual reality game. Previously, "Star Trek: Bridge VR" and "I Am Werewolf VR", which were based on the "Star Trek" series, successfully allowed players to have fun together in virtual reality. The new "Uncharted Escape: The Lost Pyramid" further interprets the interactive gaming experience in a 3D environment, while also requiring players to pay attention to the all-round perspective in the virtual reality space and must work together with others to successfully pass the level.
