Plaud has launched its desktop software, "Plaud Desktop," which allows users to take online meeting notes without an invitation from a chatbot and integrates databases from physical voice recorders.
"Non-intrusive" recording is achieved through the detection system's audio signals; it supports mainstream platforms such as Zoom and Teams, and is free for existing Plaud hardware users.

Apart from launchingNew hardware productsPlaud also announced earlier that it would extend its reach to the software side, launching the Plaud Desktop application designed specifically for computer environments. The biggest feature of this software is that it solves the awkward pain point of "inviting bots to participate in online meetings" for recording online meetings. It emphasizes a non-intrusive way that allows professionals to seamlessly integrate all meeting records, both "physical" and "online".

Plaud has launched its desktop software, "Plaud Desktop," which allows users to take online meeting notes without an invitation from a chatbot and integrates databases from physical voice recorders.

Say goodbye to awkward meeting robots

Plaud Desktop's main feature is "native capture." Unlike competitors like Otter.ai, which often require an AI bot account to join the meeting room for recording, Plaud Desktop uses Plaud Intelligence technology to directly analyze changes in computer microphone or system audio to automatically determine whether the meeting has started.

This means that regardless of whether users are using online meeting services such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or Slack, Plaud Desktop can operate quietly in the background without interfering with the meeting or making participants feel uncomfortable as if they are being listened to by a robot.

Plaud offers three flexible options for the recording trigger mechanism:

• Meeting start notification (default):When a meeting is detected, a pop-up window appears asking "Do you want to record?".

• Manual recording:The process begins when the user presses the button.

• Automatic recording:The meeting will be automatically recorded from the start (this function needs to be manually enabled).

Plaud emphasizes the "Consent First" design philosophy, promising never to record background information before the user actively authorizes it, thus ensuring privacy and security.

Multimodal notes, even screenshots can be saved.

In addition to basic speech-to-text and AI summarization, Plaud Desktop also supports "multimodal input". While recording audio, users can capture screen shots at any time, and the system will integrate these visual information with text notes and highlighting to reconstruct the complete meeting flow.

Most importantly, Plaud Desktop data is fully synchronized with Plaud App and Plaud Web cloud platform, solving the problem of data being scattered in different places due to the past practice of "using a voice recorder for physical meetings and software for online meetings", allowing users to manage all conversation assets on a single platform.

Plaud Desktop is available for download starting today. Currently, the service employs a "hardware-bound" strategy, meaning it is only available free of charge to users with devices such as Plaud Note, Plaud Note Pro, or the latest Plaud NotePin. New users must first complete device binding in the app to log in and use the service on their computers.
