The upgraded AI smart recording capsule, which was first showcased at CES 2026 earlier this year, is now available.Plaud NotePin SPlaud, officially launched in Taiwan today (March 16), has undergone a significant upgrade. This upgrade incorporates user feedback, reintroducing physical buttons with a recessed design to improve blind operation accuracy. A new desktop application, Plaud Desktop, has also been released. Through deep hardware and software integration, Plaud has successfully created a rare, comprehensive AI note-taking solution that simultaneously covers physical meetings, mobile calls, and online meetings (without relying on awkward meeting robots).
Physical buttons enhance intuitive operation; four wearable modes can be freely switched.
Continuing the popular lightweight capsule design of its predecessor, the Plaud NotePin S, the new Plaud NotePin S features key improvements to address pain points in the user experience.
The biggest change is the addition of a physical button with a recessed design on the device. Compared to the previous touch design, the physical button significantly improves the intuitiveness and tactile feedback of operation. Users can quickly start recording by simply pressing and holding the button, and during recording, a light touch on the button will activate the new Instant Highlight function, which accurately marks key moments in the meeting for easy playback and summarization of key points afterward.
In terms of design, the Plaud NotePin S continues to emphasize seamlessly integrating technology into clothing. The complete set includes four accessories, which users can freely convert into a magnetic pin, clip, wristband, or lanyard depending on their outfit and usage scenario, achieving a truly hands-free recording experience.
Say Goodbye to "Meeting Robots": Plaud Desktop Completes the Online Meeting Puzzle
In addition to hardware upgrades, the Plaud Desktop application launched at the same time significantly expands the product's practical applications.
In the past, many professionals found it most troublesome to use online AI note-taking services because they had to invite a "meeting bot" to join Google Meet, Teams, or Zoom meetings. This often drew attention from other participants or required additional approval from the host. Plaud Desktop breaks this limitation. It can automatically detect the startup status of mainstream online meeting platforms, allowing users to capture system audio for recording and AI transcription with a single click directly through the desktop application without installing browser plugins.
It's worth noting that Plaud specifically emphasizes the "consent first" privacy principle. Whether it's a physical device or desktop software, recording must be initiated manually by the user to ensure transparency and autonomy in usage.
Enterprise-level cybersecurity protection and market information
For enterprise users and business professionals who highly value confidentiality, Plaud has also made commitments regarding its cybersecurity architecture.
Taiwanese users' data will be stored on AWS servers in the western United States, using encrypted transmission and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). The developer behind it, Plaud, has passed SOC 2 Type II third-party review and complies with multiple stringent international standards, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Responsibility Act), GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), and ISO 27001/ISO 27701. This means that audio recordings, AI-generated transcripts, and key summaries can be processed under the highest level of protection.
The Plaud NotePin S is available in Taiwan starting today, in black, silver, and purple, with a suggested retail price of NT$5690. Consumers can purchase it through various retail channels including electronics retailers, Tsann Kuen, Ever Rich, Eslite Bookstore, and major e-commerce platforms.
