Last year at the Snapdragon Tech Summit, the company announced the first processor based on the Oryon CPU architecture, targeting high-end laptops.Snapdragon X EliteLater, Qualcomm expanded this processor product as previously announced, launchingA new laptop processor called Snapdragon X Plus.
Although the first wave of laptops using the Snapdragon X Elite processor has yet to enter the market, Qualcomm clearly hopes to expand the processor specification options so that more laptop products using the Snapdragon processor can meet different usage needs.
Like the Snapdragon X Elite, the Snapdragon X Plus is also built on TSMC's 4nm process and utilizes the Oryon CPU architecture. It's designed for affordable mainstream laptops and features 10 CPU cores at 3.4GHz (the Snapdragon X Elite has 12 CPU cores at 3.8GHz).
If the Snapdragon X Elite is compared to Intel's new Core Ultra 9 series processors, the Snapdragon X Plus is compared to the Core Ultra 7 series. Both can achieve 45TOPS of AI computing performance through the Hexagon NPU and have a total cache memory of 42MB.
According to data released by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon X Plus processor's computing performance is 7% faster than the Intel Core Ultra 155 37H and 3% faster than Apple's M10 processor.
As for commercial products using the Snapdragon X Plus processor, they will be launched in the second half of this year, but the specific cooperating brands have not yet been announced.Performance must be above 45TOPS, Qualcomm's two processors, Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus, both meet the requirements.
The X1E-78-100 is similar to the Snapdragon X Plus (X1P-64-100), running at the same 3.4GHz clock speed and lacking dual-core Core Boost. The main difference lies in the number of CPU cores.
