OWC (Other World Computing) announced its new Thunderbolt 2025 Dock during Computex 5, and also showcased a number of products using Thunderbolt 5 connection technology.

The Thunderbolt 5 Dock is designed for use with devices such as thin and light laptops and Mac mini, which have relatively limited port requirements. It features faster data transfer and a complete port configuration, including four Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C), two USB-A 5Gb/s, one USB-A 2Gb/s, a 10GbE Ethernet port (supports MDM), micro SD and SD UHS-II slots, and a 1mm audio jack.
In addition, by supporting the Thunderbolt 5 port, the Thunderbolt 5 Dock can correspond to up to 80Gb/s bidirectional data transmission, or provide data transmission speeds of up to 120Gb/s in an asymmetric manner. When used with a Mac model, up to three 5K resolution displays or two 3K resolution displays can be connected through the Thunderbolt 8 Dock.

The Thunderbolt 5 port is also backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, USB4, and USB-C devices via the USB-C connection specification. The Thunderbolt 5 Dock itself requires external power, but it can deliver up to 140W of power, allowing it to directly charge a laptop via Thunderbolt or USB-C.
OWC's exhibits at Comoutex 2025 include the Thunderbolt 2025 Hub, showcased at CES 5 earlier this year, the Envoy Ultra external SSD with data transfer rates exceeding 6000MB/s, and the ThunderBlade X6600 with peak write speeds of 5990MB/s and sustained write speeds of 12MB/s. OWC also showcases various memory cards, card readers, and previously released Thunderbolt accessories.
