The international version of Find N3 Flip was officially unveiled at the Singapore press conference, and the first simultaneous launch in the international marketFind N3, a foldable phone with a book-like screenLater, in an interview, Peter Lee (Dohyung Lee), head of the Find series, explained that the company chose to innovate this time by increasing the screen size while reducing the weight and retaining a large-capacity battery. In the future, the company will also consider exploring further innovative possibilities in foldable phones to meet user needs.
Peter Lee stated that while the Find N3 retains the book-like design of a foldable phone, the screen size has been increased from 2 inches on the Find N7.1 to 7.8 inches, and the external screen ratio has been adjusted to the current mainstream 20:9 aspect ratio, thereby better suiting the operating and viewing experience of most users. However, the body weight has been reduced to 239 grams, making it lighter than most foldable phones on the market. The screen also fits more snugly when folded, and the battery capacity remains at 4805mAh, supporting 67W SUPERVOOC wired fast charging.
In the future development of foldable screen phones, Peter Lee expects that they will continue to move towards larger sizes that users can accept, while also exploring other innovative possibilities.
As for whether Samsung will be the main competitor in current product development, Peter Lee emphasized that OPPO is actually still aiming for its own technological breakthroughs. However, Samsung has been developing foldable screen mobile phones for many years and has launched many products, so Samsung is naturally used as a comparison point.
Regarding OnePlus' confirmed launch of a foldable phone called the OnePlus Open, and OPPO's confirmation that this phone is a twin model with the Find N3, Peter Lee explained that the current market strategy is to enter different markets under the OPPO and OnePlus brands respectively, just as competitors also launch products in different markets under different brands. The main consideration is market layout strategy, and he emphasized that they will expand into more markets in a complementary manner.
OPPO unveiled the international version of Find N3 at the same time as it released the same phone in the Chinese market. Regarding whether it will follow the same schedule in the future to release new phones in China and the global market, Peter Lee said that it depends mainly on the current mobile phone product layout and actual market demand, and it is not necessarily the case that new phones will be announced at the same time.
Peter Lee also noted that the current collaboration with Hasselblad is primarily focused on the tonal expression of captured images, with no plans for joint lens design yet. However, he anticipates a deeper partnership between the two parties. He also explained that the Find series, which has historically been favored by the consumer market, primarily affected the tonal expression of captured images in the camera's default shooting modes. The tonal expression of the collaboration with Hasselblad will be presented in professional shooting modes, thereby satisfying the needs of users with different tonal preferences.
Even if OPPO has ended itsDevelopment of self-made chip products, making the self-developed imaging chip MariaSilicon X a "no longer" now, but Peter Lee said that in the future, they will continue to cooperate with Qualcomm and MediaTek in image presentation and shooting functions to continue the shooting style of the Find series.
