OpenAI Today (4/15)AnnounceEstablished its first office in Asia in Tokyo, Japan, and launched a localized GPT-4 large-scale natural language model to meet the needs of the Japanese market. It boasts a computing power four times that of GPT-4 Turbo and can process Japanese content three times faster than GPT-4 Turbo.
The office base in Tokyo, Japan will be headed by Tadao Nagasaki, former president of AWS Japan, and will establish external relations communication, product and service planning, and related operations teams.
OpenAI plans to recruit more than a dozen employees for its Japan office by the end of this year. It also plans to promote the ChatGPT Enterprise service to local businesses, enabling more Japanese companies to transform and develop through artificial intelligence technology.
The announcement of establishing its first office in Asia in Tokyo, Japan, will not only further expand its application development in the Japanese market, but also enable its large-scale language models to further distinguish subtle differences in cultural backgrounds by strengthening its Japanese language comprehension capabilities, thereby making more accurate decisions and analysis results. It also means that OpenAI will expand its layout throughout the Asian market through its Japanese office.
