OpenAI announces the addition of ChatGPTA feature called "Tasks", allowing users to use ChatGPT to remind themselves of the next things they plan to complete.
This function is somewhat similar to the functions provided by common digital assistant services, and may also mean that artificial intelligence assistant services will be OpenAI's next focus.
Currently, this feature is only available in beta form to paid subscribers of ChatGPT Plus, ChatGPT Team, and ChatGPT Pro. The artificial intelligence model behind it is GPT-4o, and commands can only be issued through text at this stage. It cannot be used in voice mode for the time being.
Users can issue reminders such as "report today's news summary every morning" or "remind me of what I should complete today". The ChatGPT App can also manage reminder items and content through the scheduling function, allowing users to further adjust the details of the reminder items, and want ChatGPT to execute the items, or adjust the content of the already set reminders.
Judging from its current applications, the "Tasks" function seems to mainly solve the problem of many people frequently entering repetitive commands when using ChatGPT every day. However, we may also expect ChatGPT to build more application functions based on this in the future, such as remembering the user's daily fixed tasks and then proactively providing feedback or additional reference information.
